DESCRIPTION
An inherant problem with this type of cell layout is achieving adequate guarding to the required legislation. To enable the operator into the work envelope of the robot, whilst it is working in close proximity needs careful design. and to be truly effective not only movable solid screens but also light guards are needed. These safety equipment costs can negate the price differance to a much more usable system. If you can touch the robot arm whilst it is working, it is probably not guarded sufficiently.
